The Farncombe Initiative was launched yesterday with a public meeting at Broadwater Park Community Centre.
The Farncombe Initiative was set up by Farncombe's local Councillors to generate and share ideas for regenerating the centre of the village. The Initiative has already won the backing of Godalming Town Council.
Some 60 residents joined County, Borough and Town Councillors to share ideas and visions for the future of Farncombe.
Ideas included a Farncombe Food Festival, improved street lighting, developing a Park Plan for Broadwater Park, improving litter picking and greater use of the name Farncombe for local facilities.
Cllr. Steve Cosser, who thought up the Initiative, reported: "We had a very positive meeting last night, it was great to see so many local residents come together along with sports clubs, charities and the chamber of commerce to discus the future of Farncombe. Everyone agrees that it is a great place to live and there were some really positive and thoughtful suggestions about how to move on from here."
